Customizing Moodle for Language Learning*
CALICO 2011 Conference
Victoria, BC

Sponsored by the Language Teaching and Learning Technologies SIG

Many CALL specialists are attracted to the open-source Learning Management System (LMS) known as Moodle, or Modular Object-Oriented Dynamic Learning Environment. Designed to facilitate collaboration, Moodle offers flexibility as well as the possibility of incorporating multimedia. The panel members, all expert practitioners of Moodle, describe and demonstrate the ways in which they have been able to customize Moodle to achieve their pedagogical goals.
