I spent the weekend in Kotor, a city on the Adriatic Sea. Kotor dates from medieval times and is completely surrounded by walls.
One of the entrances to the city
Town Clock Tower
The pyramid-shaped structure at the base was the town pillory.
The passageway between these two buildings led the way to my hotel.
Hotel Marija (pronounced "Maria")
Convent next to Hotel Marija
Typical street in Kotor
St. Luke's Church - built in 1195 AD
Cathedral of Saint Tripun
Consecrated in 1166; subsequently destroyed by a succession of earthquakes and rebuilt several times
