FOE 2nd Year Poetry Course Objectives

 

Students should:

      1. Know social, political and cultural background of 16th & 17th century England.
      2. Be able to link and use this knowledge as a frame work encompassing poetry of the age.
      3. Recognize aspects and variations of 16th & 17th century English poetry.
      4. Acquire knowledge of new poetic forms and terms.
      5. Be able to appreciate 16th & 17th century English poetry.

     

Course Description:

Students will study 16th & 17th century English poetry, including the period’s background, over a period of 3 months, divided into 12 lessons; each four hours.
