FOE 2^nd Year Poetry Course Objectives

Students should:

Know social, political and cultural background of 16^th & 17^th century England.
Be able to link and use this knowledge as a frame work encompassing poetry of the age.
Recognize aspects and variations of 16^th & 17^th century English poetry.
Acquire knowledge of new poetic forms and terms.
Be able to appreciate 16^th & 17^th century English poetry.

Course Description:

Students will study 16^th & 17^th century English poetry, including the period’s background, over a period of 3 months, divided into 12 lessons; each four hours.
